How to: Install our 9" disc brake kit
Our rear disc brake kits are capable of fitting axles with a 3" axle bearing OD. We install these kits on both Ford 9" rear and Dana 44 rear axles. Axle shafts used must have a 2 1/2" back spacing. Machine work may also be required depending on your application. Give us a call with any questions you may have.
Our kits include all new parts. 11" rotors, integral park brake, all bolts and hardware needed.
If your axle housing has 1/2" holes, the holes will need to be welded shut and redrilled to fit the kits backing plate 3/8" hole pattern
The brake backing plates are fitted.
Install the included spacer ring in front of the seal and bearing assembly on the axles.
Install the axles into the housing
Our new rotors do not have to be machined to fit the axles. They have the 5x5.5" pattern as well as a 5x4.75" pattern predrilled for an easy fit on early Broncos and any other Ford 9" axle with the 5x5.5" pattern
Install pads and calipers and the kit is installed.
These kits are very reliable and relativaly easy to install.
We have park brake cables available that work with the stock Bronco park brake system.
