We start our conversions with Ford racing conversion kits. All new parts, nothing rebuilt or used here.

We are adding the disc brakes to a Big bearing housing we are building for a customer. This axle has 4.11 gears and ARB Locker

End caps must have 3/8" holes. Many BB housing have 1/2" holes. We weld those closed and drill the 3/8" holes using the new baking plate as a pattern.

We use this brake kit because they have integrated the parking brake into the disc rotor. Very easy to use, very simple setup and replacement parts are available at any good parts store.

There is a small area on the right lower side of the backing plate that needs to be ground down to fit flush.

Now it is flat and will fit nicely

Install the backing plate with the supplied bolts

You must use axles with a 2.5" spacing. Stock axles will work but must be machined to fit. We recommend new axles. We use new Torino style bearings and seals that we provide with the new axle kits. The bearings and seals must be installed on the axle with the backing plate spacer ring supplied with the brake kit.

Seal, bearing, lock ring and spacer installed.

New retainer plates are available. Not part of the kit.

Bolt the retainers on through the hole in the axle. Tight fit!

Axles are installed.

Axles must be fit to the rotors. Many need the axle flange turned down to fit the rotor. Most rotors need to have the bolt pattern re drilled to fit your wheel bolt pattern. Any competent machine shop can do the needed work in an hour or so.

Calipher and pads. Again any replacement parts are available at any good local parts store.

Park brake mechanism uses the same cables as TJ Wrangler Jeeps or Ford Explorers.
